The Basics

Group sessions run weekly for 60 or 90 minutes and typically consists of 8 - 12 total participants. Some groups are "closed" groups in that they have a set start and end date, running between 8-20 weeks, while "open" groups are ongoing with new members having the ability to join after the initial start date.

How Much Info to Share?

As far as sharing information, it is up to you as to how much you choose to share. Group therapy works best when the members are honest and open.

  • Payment for group is via insurance or self-pay, depending on the group. We offer secure credit card payment that can be set up for automatic withdrawals to make things easier.
  • If you are self-pay, you may request a receipt so that you can submit it to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.

How Do I Get Started?

Assessment Interview/ Consultation

  • Once you see a group you are interested in, click on the button next to it to complete a brief form so that we can get you set up with an initial consultation to see if you are a good fit for the particular group. If it is for a teen group, there will be a brief phone consultation with the guardian, followed by a consultation with your teen.
  • The consultations are minutes in duration and serve as an assessment to see if you are a good fit for group, as well as to allow for any further questions that you may have about group and to provide you with the group expectations. By the end of the consultation, we will know whether or not group is a right fit for you at the time.

Group Contract

  • If it has been decided that you are a right fit for group, in order to go on to participate, you will be required to sign a group contract explaining what is expected from you as a group member.

You will now be on your way to further SELF-DISCOVERY and GROWTH!
